"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

The IT Crowd is a BAFTA and Emmy award-winning British sitcom by Channel 4, written by Graham Linehan, and starring Richard Ayoade, Chris O'Dowd and Katherine Parkinson.

Set in the London offices of the fictional corporation Reynholm Industries, the show revolves around the three staff members of its I.T. (information technology) department - the two technicians named Moss (Ayoade) and Roy (O'Dowd), and their manager Jen (Parkinson).

The programme began on Channel 4 on 3 February 2006, the show has run for three series of 6 episodes each, and a fourth series started to air on 25 June 2010. A fifth series has also been commissioned.

The show was the third successful sitcom creation of Graham Linehan, following Black Books, co-written with Dylan Moran, and Father Ted, co-written with Arthur Mathews.

The IT Crowd - USA Pilot

  USA Pilot Episode : 1 episodes - 23 mins.

Richard Ayoade reprised his role as Moss in the American adaptation of the series. However, NBC canceled the production as it was not picked up so watch this and make your own mind up why that was..

An america says...

The IT Crowd is a very British show in the sense that it comes from a tradition of surreal sitcom that doesn’t really have an equivalent in America. The only point in a mainstream U.S. network taking on a show like this would be to reinvent it from the ground up, using storylines and characters merely as a jumping-off point, throwing away what’s not useful and keeping everything else. Judging by the pilot I saw, this was not what they had in mind.

Well I hope that confused you as much as it did me. But then again I'm not a fan of many American sitcoms.
